The client want some change after leaving so many years in the urban core of Rio de Janeiro. They want to build an intimate retreat on their property adjacent to the Tijuca National Park where they could just enjoy the natural landscape.
The main goal was to make the house as tiny as it could be within its tropical jungle setting. The 1500 square foot house rises into the rainforest. It’s like an escape or hide away for the owner of the house to retreat from the city life.
This beautiful house is surrounded by jucara palm and cariniana trees. The north end of the house contains a single bedroom while the south and opens to the city view with the sea and the Rios famous Christ the Redeemer statue. Can you imagine the scenery and the view? Just like heaven…🤍🤍
On the ground plane belowa screened porch with outdoor kitchen and allow the owner to engage with the landscape while doing their work..
Local construction techniques are being used that includes board formed concrete, side walls and interior walls of colourful plasters in a Brazilian tradition.
